Thinking about my Mum…

Luke and I are headed to my Mum’s tonight so she can wake up to smiles, scrambled eggs and gifts on Mother’s Day. Made a little drawing for her this morning. Will post it tomorrow. Meanwhile I was looking through my photos and came across this. It is my favourite photo of my Mum and I as a baby. Beautiful! And holy crap I think Luke and I just bought that print for our bedroom – how amazing!

This is my favourite photo of my Mum and I when I was a baby. What a spunk and I love how proud she her stance is and her beautiful skirt.

More things that inspire me…

So I’ve been watching TED talks for a while now and I’m sure you all have been too. I just watched a short video on Creative Confidence and people’s lack of self-efficacy. I see it everyday in the art classroom, students who have been told that something they have created isn’t good enough. I believe that we are all innately creative and that somewhere along our path to adulthood someone has told us otherwise, be it a teacher or a fellow student or even a parent or family member.

Here's a little still from the video.

Here is the link to this great video where David Kelley briefly discusses ‘Creative Confidence’ – food for thought.

So the weekend was most excellent. I am totally inspired to make my own small business in art workshops and this is my first step to saying hi world I am creative. Big Hearted Business un-conference has put me in touch with people like me, who have heart and want to be part of creative, loving community. Wow! And now I am on my path to happiness. Desire map done thanks to Danielle LaPorte and I’m feeling most enthusiastic. Anyway Melbournites keep in touch if you want to know more about my workshops. First one coming up in June. Yay!
